Sally Robinson

Sally hails from the land down under (Melbourne, Australia) and moved to Minnesota in November 2007. Her studies began with a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne and she graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Queensland in 2001. After working as a small animal veterinarian, Sally completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Melbourne Veterinary Hospital and during this time began a Master of Veterinary Science by research, investigating the role of Mycoplasma in feline ocular and respiratory disease. While continuing her MVSc degree, she continued working as a registrar in the University of Melbourne Veterinary Hospital.

Sally’s husband Nick is a veterinary anatomic pathology resident at the University of Minnesota. They have a two and a half year old daughter Sophie with another on the way and a black cat called Zeus (or Zeusie-Moose). Sally’s main recreational pursuit is distance running (which includes running around after Sophie!), and she hopes to run the Twin Cities Marathon sooner rather than later. Sally’s research interests are varied, and include the molecular basis of comparative oncology. Sally joined the lab in June of 2008 as a rotation PhD candidate working on hemangiosarcoma ontogeny.
