Helen MichaelHelen grew up in Baltimore, MD and in Salt Lake City, UT and moved to Minnesota to attend Carleton College, where she earned a BA in Biology. She received her DVM from the University of Minnesota and is currently doing a residency in Clinical Pathology. In the lab, Helen is working to characterize canine natural killer cells. Helen is married to Jim Reinertsen, an architect specializing in energy efficiency and LEED consulting. They share their home in St. Paul with two large dogs, Oscar and Henry, and two cats, Sasha and Arthur. Helen and Jim love being outside and try to get to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness twice a year. Helen loves to garden and grows a variety of berries and vegetables. In the winter, she fills her time designing and knitting clothing and hats.
